Adamfreelance Video Downloader is a great, free video downloader. It can be used to download videos from quite a few video-sharing websites, such as YouTube, Vimeo, Keezmovies, and a few others. The application is absolutely free and it works like a charm.
The graphical user interface is incredibly plain. There is only a text field and a button. This makes it simple and very easy to use. When you want to download a video, all you have to do is paste its URL in the field and click on the button. Then, a snapshot of the video, its title and a few different links will appear at the top of the screen. These links let you download a specific version of the video. In my case, I got 6 links, three of which were FLV files and the remaining three, MP4 ones. The resolutions ranged from 320x240 to 1920x1280. When you click on a link, the download starts. The application won't do the downloading. Instead, it will be handled by your web browser or default download manager, if you have one.
In my testing, this application worked very well. I was able to download videos from YouTube with no problems. The files looked great and played well on VLC.
